My Dear Betty [Healy],
Sorry so long in reply to yours of May 10th., when I got your letter, I was in the Glendale Sanitarium - was in there for three weeks - had a bad attack of high blood pressure with slight stroke on my left side. Have been home for a couple of weeks now & pleased to tell you I am up & able to get around again. I was certainly lucky, could have been very serious for me, anyway, the Dr. says I should be back to normal in a couple of months. This of course has delayed the Roach deal, altho' they know nothing of my illness, I do'nt want to make any commitment until I am in condition to go ahead with it. I am feeling OK, but still very weak & have to get my strength back.
Was sorry to note you had'nt been feeing too good, I guess the trouble with your teeth had a lot to do with it, that can upset your whole system, especially with the extractions not having been too good with broken parts left in your gums - hope by now you have got those out & feeling much better again.
Can imagine how anxious you are to get started in Las Vegas & kinda get back in harness again, the change will do you a lot of good after that "Early To Bed Early To Rise Makes A Man A Farmer" business! Do'nt blame you not being interested in the Radio deal, a lot of responsibility & hard work for what?
Not much more to tell you BETTY, so will close. Lots of good luck, success & happiness to Wayne & self in your new venture, hope things will turn out wonderful for you - you deserve it. Let me know when you get settled down, will look forward to hearing all the news.
    Bye & God Bless,
                As ever:-
