Stan Laurel, film comedian, contends that his wife, Mrs. Ruth Laurel, is well able to care for herself, as well as to pay the cost of her suit for divorce, without being given any temporary allowance or costs. Laurel's allegations in his cross-complaint for divorce that his wife has some $20,000 of the couple's community property and that she also receives $172 per month income from an annuity he purchased for her, were expected to be considered by the court.
